![]() I liked the interactions between all the characters and am looking forward to reading more about them and watching the story play out in the upcoming books. ![]() Vi knows that there are secrets at the court involving the Prince’s wife and she tries to figure out what happened to her but is not truly prepared for the answer. She goes from suspicious and prickly to enjoying the people that surround her, including the prince. I really enjoyed the slow unfolding of Vi and Thiago’s relationship and how Vi begins to see Thiago and his court as something other than the enemy. While there she begins to find out that Thiago isn’t quite what he seems and neither is she. She is basically a pawn between her mother and the Prince of Evernight in a game that they have been playing for years. Vi is being sent to Thiago’s court as a “hostage” for the next 3 months. I have devoured McMaster’s other series - vampires, werewolves, dragons, oh my! (all recommended) - but am not a fan of fae stories. ![]()
